greetings Tesla fans!
I'm so glad I found this "universe"
My name is Nick Normal, I'm an artist and educator based in Long Island City, Queens, NYC. And I'm helping co-organize the forthcoming 1st annual World Maker Faire (
http://makerfaire.com/ ).
Maker Faire is the world's largest DIY event - a blend of Art, Technology and Science, combined with family-fun, participation, robots, craft and do-it-yourself ethics. It is the brainchild of MAKE magazine. Maker Faire will be taking place in NYC later this year, September 25th and 26th, at the New York Hall of Science (
http://nysci.org/ ) in Queens - the site of the original '39 and '64 Worlds Fairs. I would like to invite all of you Tesla fans, engineers, builders and Makers to submit projects for review. We're looking for: electrical, mechanical, robots, DIY designs, trebuchets, things-that-go-boom, homemade engines, etc.
Tesla had such a strong NY history, and we're attempting to rejuvenate that time and culture when experimentation and invention were standard in our society. I'd love to see a giant "Tesla Park" or other electrical projects get the exposure they deserve.
You can see pictures from a previous Faire on the west coast and the 300+ projects we hosted here:

ps - I found y'all while researching Harry Goldman - he'd be a wonderful candidate to participate in the Faire if anybody knows how to get in touch with him - thanks!
