I live right outside NYC and have built a medium size coil that currently arcs out a 3ft or more.  If you are looking for a larger coil, I know of a person who builds large DRSSTCs in New Jersey about a 1.5 hours out of NYC.  Feel free to contact me at:   TeslaUniverseDC@jpgrippa.com
