Title: Colorado Springs Lab Book
Post by: scones on November 22, 2009, 07:01:41 PM
Ok, well maybe there is something elsewhere on the site about this, but I'm fascinated with Tesla's high voltage experiments at Colorado Springs and I'd like to do some reading/research on the topic.  Can anyone recommend a book or other resource?  I'm looking for something that is part narrative, part technical analysis.  (And yes, I checked the book section, but I wanted to know if there were any recommendations).

There is one book I have called THE NIKOLA TESLA TREASURY:

There are things he wrote after he did his experiments at Colorado Springs.  This book has things he wrote in his own words, both technical and otherwise.  In it is the long article he wrote "The Problem of Increasing Human Energy, With Special References to the Harnessing of the Sun's Energy," June 1900, which was after his time in Colorado Springs and he was itching to discuss what he was doing there.

The first bio written about him, PRODIGAL GENIUS by O'Neill also has some pretty good descriptions.  Some of the other bios do too.

I happened to stumble on the Margaret Cheney biography awhile back quite by accident while in my local Barnes and Noble.  I did not know anything about this Tesla then.  After reading it, I was hooked.  He was an amazing individual, and I was so surprised I'd never heard of him.  He was never mentioned once in my school days, and yet it was he who invented most of the stuff we use today.

I am glad that this site is here, and I was happy to join it today.  There is no place to introduce oneself, so I will just say here that I am glad to be here and am glad there is a place to talk about Tesla.   :)

Wow 668 pages!  Thanks, I'll definitely check some of this stuff out.  Glad to have another fellow Tesla fan online!

There is a  book published called "Colorado Springs Notes" that is from his personal log book during that time. and by "from" I mean "his log book typed to a more legible font setting" haha
