We just finished building SG10-TC Tesla coils for the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry (far right) and Technorama (middle), a hands-on science museum in Winterthur, Switzerland. The SG10-TC on the left is the Tesla coil that played to millions of guests at the Universal Studios Hollywood Fear Factor Live show.

Interesting colors, is that from the wire insulation or the outer coating?

The coil in the middle looks most like the wire underneath (a special order PVC coating in standard purple). A thick top coating (a 3M two part electrical resin) can make the coils look redish as in the one on the left. The one on the right is a lighter color wire with a thin coat.

We just spent a week with our Swiss clients and they are very happy with all five machines we completed:

1. SG10-TC - 10kW Spark Gap Tesla Coil
2. SparkDodger(tm) Mini - 2kW Musical Tesla Coil w/full keyboard
3. Wire Exploder - 10kJ Pulse Discharge Machine
4. Can Crusher - 10kJ Pulse Discharge Machine
5. Plasma Ball Maker - 10kJ Pulse Discharge Machine

I will have video of all the machines in a few days. The installation is slated for September.
