The matter beginning with line 19 on page 23 of the specification and ending with line 5 on page 23 should be cancelled, The method claims in this case present no patentable novelty in view of the well known use of electrical waves transmitted through the ether for operating telegraphic apparatus. The method is the same whether the relay operates a sounder as in the Marconi apparatus or operates electro nagnetic devices for controlling different apparatuses on a boat. Clains 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are therefore rejected on the disclosures contained in the paper by Preece reported in the Proceedings of the Royal Institution of Great Britain, Vol. 15, Part 2, page 467. Attention is called to the following patents: Smith 184,182, Nov. 7, 1976; Lay 193,126, Dec, 11, 1877; Sina 450,875, April 21, 1891, all in Steering and Propulsion, Cable Control, as showing that it is common to control the steering and propelling mechanisms of a boat by nema of electro magnetic devices. Attention is also called to Coleman 608,405, June 28, 1898, Electric Signalling, Burglar Alarms. Clains 6 and 11 are rejected as presenting in complete combinations. The means upon which the electric waves or disturbances operate and the means for controlling the mechanisms on the vessel are not included as alemonts of the combination. 1
