Selecting a Username

A username is the unique name that is publically displayed on the Tesla Universe web site. However, your real name, email adress and other personal information are never available to the general public.

Things to consider when creating a Username:

• Create a username that contains letters, numbers, dashes and underscores and is at least 3, but not more than 24 characters long.
• Your username is what other members will refer to you as while using the chat, forum and other community related parts of the site.
• The username you select will be used in URLs to access your profile page and other areas of the site.
• Some names are reserved and cannot be used such as: god, admin, nikola, nikolatesla, nikola-tesla, nikola_tesla, etc.

Things that you can’t include in a Username:

• Spaces, tabs or any characters other than: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, - and _.
• Obscene or profane words.
• Another member’s username, even if the case is different.
• Consecutive underscores or dashes.
• An underscore or dash at the beginning of a username.

If you received the message You have entered a username that is not allowed, you may have included a character that is not allowed in a username.
