Letters to and from, or regarding Nikola Tesla

December 9th, 1899 letter from George Scherff to Nikola Tesla

New York, Dec. 9th, 1899
46 & 48 E. Houston Street

Nikola Tesla, Esq.,
Colorado Springs, Colo.

Dear Mr. Tesla:

Your two telegrams of Dec. 8th were received this morning.

Two double focus Roentgen tubes which were in the laboratory, have been expressed at once. However, as we are not quite sure that these are what is wanted, as the telegram says "thick platinum", two more tubes with extra thick platinum targets, have been ordered from Mr. Greiner, and will be ready for shipment on Monday.

The work of the shop continues on the commutator, pulley cover, switchboard, spark rod support and contact connections for the fields. Mr. Uhlman begs to inquire, whether the condenser for the new oscillator is to be built of wax paper or mica strips.

I inclose statement of expenses for this week. I have drawn from the Chatham Bank $200 today, in accordance with instructions per telegram.

Respectfully,
Geo. Scherff
